loops
from tasks to loops: what the fable 5 launch actually signals
anthropic launched fable 5 today. the benchmarks aren't the story. the framing one of their engineers put on it is — and it changes what operators in the coachella valley should be asking from ai.

the coachella valley visitor economy is 1.6% agent-ready. the gap is structural.
3,627 businesses scored. fifty-eight pass. wellness leads. national chains underperform local independents by 1.15 points. the gap is structural, which is the part worth paying attention to.

how the valley's first agent-readiness audit got built (and what broke three times along the way)
fifty-plus concurrent agents produced today's audit. three things broke mid-run. the lesson isn't whether agents can do the work — it's whether you've built the gates to catch them when they're wrong.

jobs were scaffolding. the coachella valley should build past them.
the modern job is barely 150 years old. ai is taking the scaffolding down — and the structural question for the coachella valley isn't retraining, it's ownership of the agentic systems coming next.

about sunshinefm

palm springs coachella
Sat Singh at the SunshineFM studio — mid-century Palm Springs

SunshineFM is the everything app for Palm Springs Coachella — and the home base for building the valley’s first agentic startup ecosystem. Radio, newsroom, labs, and tools, built by one human working alongside an evolving network of AI agents.

The curiosity — and the orchestration — are human. Everything else is built with agents.

We program radio by how humans feel across a day, not by genre or algorithm. We write daily about what’s reshaping the valley — and we publish when it’s worth your time. We ship experiments, tools, and services into the desert — AI apps, agentic utilities, and things that don’t have a category yet. Some of it sticks. Some doesn’t. All of it happens in public.

Every day, something ships out of Silicon Valley that will reshape how the Coachella Valley works — its businesses, its workforce, its culture, its founders. We write about it daily. Not AI in the abstract — AI landing here, in this valley, in real time, and what it means for the people who live and build here.

The Coachella Valley has never had a truly sustainable startup ecosystem. We believe that’s about to change. AI and agentic tools have collapsed the cost of experimentation — one founder with the right tools can now build what used to require a team and a term sheet. SunshineFM exists to help build the valley’s first agentic startup ecosystem, from scratch, in public. We’re here for the locals already building, and for the founders in SF and LA who are ready to stop visiting and start planting something.

The radio, the newsroom, the labs, the tools — everything serves that.

We don’t have all the answers. But we’re experimenting.

And yes — there will be merch.
